Shay Komaroff of East Brunswick, NJ passed away on July 25, 2024 at Raritan Bay Medical Center – Old Bridge. He was 92 years old. He was born the son of a citrus plantation owner in 1932. As a teenager, and towards the end of the British Mandate, Shay was inducted into the Haganah in a secret ceremony. He served in the Israeli Army in active duty and then as a reservist. Shay immigrated to the United States in 1963 and subsequently became a citizen. He was a longtime employee of Phillips Concrete. Shay was a sailing enthusiast and upon retiring purchased his own sailboat. He became a member of the Raritan Yacht Club and moored his sailboat there.
Shay is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years Bernice Barr Komaroff and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services and burial are private under the direction of Bronson and McNamara Memorial Home.
