Ronald A. Giles Sr. of Lakewood, NJ passed away October 21, 2021 at Shorrock Gardens Care Center, Brick, NJ. Ron was born in New Brunswick and grew up in North Brunswick and then moved to Milltown after he got married. Then in 1999 he moved to Point Pleasant where he spent most of retirement. Ron proudly served his country in the Army and was stationed in Japan during the Korean War. He worked hard as a Union Electrician for IBEW local 456 for over 35 years until an injury forced him to retire. Ron was also a musician and played the drums from the age of 13 to well into his sixties mainly with a band called Don Hess and the Executives. Ron was very active in his community and served as volunteer firemen and became an exempt member of Milltown FD Hose Company, coached little league for 10 years and was a big part of the Saturday morning basketball league. Ron was a member of St Paul’s Church in Milltown. Predeceased by his mother and father, Ella Stein Giles and Charles Giles, his brother Howard and his son Ronald A Giles Jr. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Janice Peterson Giles, his children Tami Giles, Ricky Giles and wife Wendy Giles, Taryn Oliveira and husband John Oliveira, grandchildren Ryan Giles and his wife Alison Giles, Alec Giles, Samantha Oliveira and Tyler John Oliveira, great grandchildren Coltin Gotsai and Matilynn Giles. Friends will be received Tuesday October 26th 4 ~ 7pm at the Bronson and Guthlein Funeral home in Milltown. The funeral service will be held Wednesday October 27th at 10am at the funeral home followed by the burial at Van Liew Cemetery, North Brunswick.
