Roberta "Bert" Goodwin

Roberta “Bert” Goodwin (née Matlack) of Milltown, NJ passed away peacefully on November 30, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.  She was 89 years old.  She was a lifelong resident of Milltown and was a fixture in her community.  Bert had a passion for traveling; particularly road trips, sewing, and served as the family historian.  She was deeply involved in her hometown as Past President of the MFD Ladies Auxiliary, a member of the Milltown Republican Party, Lions Club, and Milltown Planning Board.  She worked the election polls since the 1960’s.   Bert and her late husband Bud implemented the NJ chapter of DESA (Destroyer Escort Sailors Association).  Predeceased by her beloved husband of 46 years Charles “Bud” Goodwin in 1996; Bert is survived by her devoted children Barbara Anderson, Daniel Goodwin, and Kyle Goodwin; grandchildren Kimberly Carusi, and Kelly Goodwin; and 2 great-grandchildren Catie and Carter Carusi; and sister Linda Butch.  Family and friends will be received Friday 2-7pm at the Bronson & Guthlein Funeral Home of Milltown.  Interment is private.
