It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Richard “Chico” McArthur, who passed away on May 1, 2026, at the age of 37.

Born on November 19, 1988, Richard, lovingly known as “Chico,” was a man remembered for his strong spirit, unforgettable personality, loyalty, and deep love for those closest to him. To many, he was more than a friend or family member — he was a protector, a source of laughter, and someone whose presence could fill a room. Those who truly knew him understood that behind his tough exterior was a caring heart, especially when it came to his children and loved ones.

Above all else, Chico was a devoted father. His greatest pride and joy were his five beautiful children: Richelle, Richard II, Ricardo, Ronnie, and Ruth. He loved them deeply and carried them at the center of his world. His love and guidance will continue to live on through them every day.

He also leaves behind his loving partner, Lizette Sanchez, whose bond with him was built on years of love, loyalty, and shared memories that will never be forgotten.

Chico will be remembered for his humor, his generosity, and the way he made people feel when they were around him. He had a gift for making others laugh, whether through his jokes, stories, or unforgettable dark humor. He loved music, movies, long drives, diners, and sharing the things he loved with the people around him. He introduced family and friends to classics from the 90s and 2000s, creating memories that will live on forever.

To his nieces and nephews, he was the fun uncle who always showed up with laughter, advice, and thoughtful gestures. To his friends, he was loyal and dependable. To his family, he was unforgettable.

Many who loved Chico remember the small moments most — his smile, the sound of his laugh, rides in the car filled with jokes, family gatherings, and the comfort of simply being in his presence. He had a way of making people feel protected, cared for, and understood.

Though his journey in life was not without struggles, those closest to him choose to remember the love he gave, the joy he brought, and the light he carried within him. His memory will continue to live on through the countless lives he touched.
