Raul Ortiz Vega of Milltown, NJ passed away on October 4, 2021 at St. Peter's Medical Center, New Brunswick, NJ.  He was 81 years old.  Born in Puerto Rico, he was a longtime resident of New Jersey.  After being diagnosed with cancer and given 6 months to live, Raul courageously battled for over 5 years, defying all expectations.  He found inspiration during his fight in his beloved grandchildren and his two faithful dog companions Roxy and Ivy. 

Predeceased by his son Raul Ortiz, Raul is survived by sons Miguel and Rene Aponte, son and daughter-in-law Hector and Diane Ortiz, and grandchildren; Haven, Jayden, Victoria, and Marie-Fatima Ortiz.

Friend will be received Tuesday 6:00pm - 8:00pm at the Bronson and Guthlein Funeral Home of Milltown.  The funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday, 10:00am at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Milltown followed by burial at Arlington Cemetery, Kearny, NJ.
