Norman Decker of South Brunswick, NJ passed away at his home on February 23, 2023. He was 89 years old. Born and raised in New Brunswick, NJ, he was a resident of South Brunswick, in the home he built, for almost 50 years. Norman honorably served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War. He was an active member and past Chaplain of American Legion Post #25 Milltown. Norman was a member of the NJ State Police for 4 years and a union electrician out of Local 456 New Brunswick for over 50 years. He was a parishioner of St. Cecilia’s RC Church, Monmouth Jct. He was a member of Rangers A.C. Milltown, NJ Former Trooper Association, an avid hunter and fisher, and a semi-pro pool player.
Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Amelia Decker and three siblings: John Decker, William Decker, and Joann Yuhasz; Norman is survived by brother and sister-in-law James E. and Sharon Decker, thirteen loving nieces and nephews and their families.
Family and friends will be received Tuesday 4:00pm – 8:00pm at the Bronson & Guthlein Funeral Home of Milltown, NJ. The funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday 11:00am at St. Cecilia’s RC Church, Monmouth Jct., NJ followed by burial at St. James Cemetery, Jamesburg.
