Max Olynyk Obituary

Max Olynyk, passed away peacefully on October 27th, 2023.  He will be missed by his beloved wife Valerie of 37 years, his brother, Henry, sister, Ina, and brother-in-law, Michael Gerber; brother-in-law, Robert, and sister-in-law, Theresa Bruno; many nephews and nieces, great nephews and nieces and numerous friends.

Valerie and Max shared wonderful times together traveling around the world and enjoying concerts and the theatre. As devoted Ranger fans, Valerie and Max attended many games and cheered both the Yankees and Mets. As a former Rugby player, Max collected many team shirts. The son of Ukrainian immigrants, Nina and Micola, was raised on the Lower East Side of NYC before moving to Brooklyn.  An avid geologist, Max worked on many projects with USDA as well as the tunnel project in NYC prior to the USDA.  Max had a passion for life. A passion for cars, motorcycles, scuba diving, and sky diving provided much excitement over his years.  Upon retiring, Max enjoyed time golfing, playing ping pong, and reading mystery novels.
