Leston Ronald Kuhlthau, Sr. of Milltown, NJ passed away on Wednesday June 12, 2024 at Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center – New Brunswick, NJ.  He was 81 years old.  He graduated from Brothers of the Sacred Heart Boarding School, Long Island, NY and received a BS from Thomas Edison College.  Leston was employed as an electrical engineer by SRI for civilian contracts with the Navy Operational Support Center (NOSC) Earle NJ, Naval Weapons Systems Electrical Group – Naval Weapons System Earle, and Combat Systems Engineering Development Site (CSEDS) in Moorestown, NJ.  He was also employed as an electrician by Johnson and Johnson and J.M. Hubers.  He taught electrical for a time at night school for East Brunswick Vo-Tech. Leston’s proudest professional accomplishment was owning LK Video Productions; Mill Electric, Inc.; and LK Electrical Solutions, LLC for the last forty years.

Leston was a member of St. Pauls Church, Milltown and was a man of many hobbies.  He was a ham radio operator (WB20MS); enjoyed boating, fishing, swimming, Allaire Sport – flying, going to the shooting range, DIY projects around the house, and the company of the family dogs Cheech and Oreo.

Predeceased by his mother Rose Ann Marcillina in 1983, father Leston H. Kuhlthau in 1977, daughter Patricia Lynn Kuhlthau in 1977, Granddaughter Jessica Butkiewicz and beloved wife of 32 years Gail H. Schneider Kuhlthau in 2008, Leston is survived by his daughter Janet Kuhlthau and grandson Aiden of Milltown, son and daughter-in-law Leston Ronald, II and Rebecca Kuhlthau and granddaughter Caelyn of Milltown, daughter and son-in-law Pamela and Chris Wallace and grandchildren Christopher and Brittany of Cornelius, NC, and daughter Margaret Anne Butkiewicz and grandchildren Johnny, Trishia, Joey, and Jennifer of Avenel, NJ.

Friends and family will be received Tuesday 4:00pm – 8:00pm at the Bronson and McNamara Memorial Home of Milltown.  The funeral service will be celebrated Wednesday 10:00am at the funeral home followed by burial at Van Liew Cemetery – North Brunswick, NJ.
