Joseph J. Dametz of East Brunswick, NJ passed away peacefully on October 25, 2020 at Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center, New Brunswick.  He was 64 years old.  Born in New Brunswick, Joe was a lifelong resident of East Brunswick, NJ.  Carrying on a family tradition from his grandfather and father, he was employed as a Union Ironworker, Local 11.  A former Boy Scout, Joe enjoyed outdoor pursuits such as fishing and camping.  He was known as a daredevil with, for better or worse, no regard for the consequences.  Joe was also a dedicated NY Mets fan.  Most of all, he was a kind, big-hearted person.

Predeceased by his father Paul James “Jim” Dametz in 1981, his mother Doris Dametz in 2018, and his brother Paul Dametz in 2017; Joe is survived by his loving sister and brother-in-law Lori and Dan Driscoll and beloved niece Maggie Driscoll. 

Family and friends will be received Sunday 1:00-3:00pm at the Bronson and Guthlein Funeral Home of Milltown, NJ.  The funeral mass will be celebrated Monday 10:00am at St. Bartholomew’s RC Church, East Brunswick.  Final disposition will be private at a later date.  In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks memorial donations be made to a charity of your choice.
