Joseph William Buttafogo of Milltown, NJ passed away on December 6, 2024 with his wife Rose Ann by his side. Joe was born in New Brunswick, NJ to Dante and Mary Buttafogo on September 21, 1944. As a lifelong NJ resident, he graduated from St. Peter’s HS. Joe proudly served his county in the Army Signal Corps in Alaska. He married Rose Ann Budniak in 1991 and resided in Milltown for 33 years. Joe was employed by IBM, The Daily Racing Form, and Scholastic Book Company. He loved sports, especially the Yankees, golfing, and cruising. Joe was a faithful and active parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Milltown.
Predeceased by his parents Dante and Mary and brother Danny; Joe is survived by his beloved wife Rose Ann; sister Dorie Ford; sister-in-law Lenore; nephews Danny, Ronald, and Richard; nieces Linda and Diane; brothers-in-law Logan (Gloria) Shaffer, Vincent (Theresa) Wall; and many great-nieces and nephews, countless friends, and wonderful neighbors who loved his sense of humor.
Family and friends will be received for a memorial wake on Thursday 9:00am – 10:30am at the Bronson and McNamara Memorial Home. The funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday 11:00am at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. The burial will take place privately at a later date at St. Joseph’s Chapel Mausoleum – Blackwood, NJ.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
