Esther "Dolly" Thompson Obituary

Esther "Dolly" Thompson of New Brunswick, NJ passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2020 at her home after a long illness.  She was 87 years old.  Born in New Brunswick, she was a lifelong resident.  She was employed by the City of New Brunswick as an aide at the Woodrow Wilson School for over 20 years.  Esther was an avid bingo player, Johnny Cash fan, and the life of the party.  She got great joy from spending time with her friends and family.  She was a beloved Mom, Grandmom, Nanny, and Great-Grandma.

Predeceased by her parents Carmen and Elizabeth Sgro, sister Mary Sgro, brother Anthony Sgro, and eldest daughter Joyce Deibert; Esther is survived by her beloved husband Raymond William Thompson; daughters and sons-in-law Karen and Ed Selby and Darlene and John Cannon; grandchildren April, Jesse, Erica, Michael, Sean, and Angelina; eight great-grandchildren; brother Steve Sgro; and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.  Family and friends will be received Sunday, 3-5pm at the Bronson and Guthlein Funeral Home of Milltown, NJ.  The funeral service will be celebrated Sunday, 4:45pm.  In lieu of flowers kindly make memorial donations to the American Diabetes Association, P.O.
