Eleanor “Ellie” J. Blunt of South River, NJ passed away peacefully on February 19, 2024 at her home.  She was 93 years old. Born in Newark, NJ, Ellie was a longtime area resident.  She was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church, Milltown, NJ, a member of the church’s Altar Rosary Society and circle of prayer, and a member of American Post #25, Milltown.  Ellie served her community by crocheting afghans and hats for the homeless. She enjoyed playing bingo and polka music.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Ernest in 2006; Ellie is survived by her son Ernest Blunt, Jr. of Toms River; daughter and son-in-law Deborah and Robert Paszkowski of Tewksbury, NJ; daughter Katherine Snell of South River, NJ; grandchildren: Tiffany and Ernie Blunt, Dawn Ystica, Chelline Occhipinti, and Richard Snell; and four great-granchildren.

Family and friends will be received Saturday March 2, 2024 from 12:00pm – 2:00pm at the Bronson and McNamara Memorial Home of Milltown, NJ. The funeral service will be celebrated Saturday.  Final disposition is private.
