Edward Ambrose Watts (1937-2020)
Edward died Sunday, May 10. He was preceded in death by his parents Madeline (nee O’Connor) Watts and E. Ambrose “Brose” Watts and his brother Richard L. Watts.
A lifelong resident of the New Brunswick area, Ed graduated from St Peter’s High School and Rutgers University. He was a Latin and History teacher at Franklin High School in Somerset NJ and retired in 1993. He spent his retirement years taking care of his mother and making new friends in many places. Ed was passionate about the NY Mets, Rutgers basketball and politics, with strong opinions until the end. His last few years were spent in Pennsylvania living near his nieces and nephews. His Roman Catholic faith provided him with comfort through many difficulties. Our family thanks the staff at St Mary Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare for the kind care provided.
Ed is survived by his sister-in-law, Dineen Watts of Haverford PA (formerly of Audubon and Collegeville, PA), his cousin Patricia Donegan of New York City and many nieces and nephews.
A mass and burial will be held at a later time.
