Carol Ina Donato of Monroe, NJ was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday June 27th, 2024 at her home in Monroe, NJ surrounded by her family. She was raised in Manhattan, NY , she spent most of her life in Middlesex County, NJ.
Carol was the matriarch of her family and prided herself on being a mother to her 6 children and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Carol had a passion for helping others and chose a rewarding career in the medical field working a variety of roles for HIP and later for the Franklin care center in Franklin Park, NJ for many years.
In her younger years Carol was a model and also a talented singer in American Big Band who performed with the likes of Ralph Flanagan. Carol was an avid horror fan and enjoyed watching the classics. Carol will be remembered as a strong, independent, loving woman who cared deeply for all she knew.
Predeceased by her husband Santo Donato, brothers John and George Smith, daughter Edith Donato, and grandsons Joseph Perdun and James O’Neil Jr.
Carol leaves behind to cherish her memory, her siblings: Sandra DiDomenico (Louis) of NC., Robert Smith of Monroe NJ, and Emily Lane of Piscataway NJ.
Carol is survived by her loving children Dean Donato(Debra) of Rahway, Santo Donato of Jamesburg, Perry Donato(Linda) of East Brunswick, Jan Donato of Milltown, and George Donato of East Brunswick, 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and many cousins, nieces, nephews and her precious cats Pearl and Misty.
Friends and family may visit on Tuesday July 2, 2024 from the hours of 4:00pm-8:00pm at Bronson and McNamara Memorial Home in milltown.
Funeral service will take place on Wednesday July 3, 2024 at 10:00am at the funeral home.
Internment at Oaklawn Memorial Park.
