Bernardine Celis

Bernardine Celis, 79, of Port Reading, NJ passed away peacefully at home on Monday, June 30, 2025. She was born December 9, 1945 in Perth Amboy, NJ to Bernardo Celis and Claire Engelbert Celis. Bernardine graduated from Woodbridge High School in 1965, and completed various college courses in business. She worked as a Senior Budget Clerk for PSE&G in Newark, from which she retired.

Bernardine was a devoted sister and aunt. She enjoyed aerobic jazz, dancing, Broadway shows, walking clubs, comedy shows, and traveling. Bernardine is predeceased by her parents Bernardo Celis and Claire Engelbert Celis, brother Ronald Celis, and sister Mercedes Celis Best. She is survived by her sister, Deborah A. Celis; nephews, Seth Wernersbach and Vaughn Wernersbach; and several great-nieces/nephew.

Visitation will be Saturday July 5, 2025 from 12:30-4:30pm at Bronson & McNamara Memorial Home, 152 N Main St, Milltown, NJ 08850. Entombment and Committal services to be held at a later date.
